The Paxton Bobcats came out on top against the West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors by a score of 58-48. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats who have now won three contests in a row.
Paxton found their leader in sophomore Kenzie Lassiter, who posted 12 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Falk, who earned seven points along with five boards and five steals.
Olivia Pearce and Bryse Burkett certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Pearce dropped a double-double on 17 points and 22 rebounds, while Burkett went 8 for 18 en route to 23 points and five steals. Burkett has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Paxton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-5 record.
Paxton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-16 victory against Poplar Springs on the 14th. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, they will take on Aletheia Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
