The Bethlehem Eagles will take on the Hancock County Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Bethlehem is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Bethlehem's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Campbellsville 15-0. The result was nothing new for Bethlehem, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Cora Rogers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rogers was also big at the plate, earning three runs and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bethlehem got a massive performance out of Emmalee Hettinger, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Hettinger has posted since back in April of 2025. Cam Mitchell was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Bethlehem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .667 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Hancock County narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Franklin-Simpson 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.
Ryleigh French spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ansley House and Aubree Mosby did most of the damage at the plate: House went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Mosby went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Mosby is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Bryant, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Bethlehem picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 9-3. As for Hancock County, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Hancock County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bethlehem has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .491. It's a different story for Hancock County, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Bethlehem's hitters?
Bethlehem was able to grind out a solid victory over Hancock County in their previous meeting back in April of 2016, winning 9-5. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
