Gibbs is a perfect 4-0 against Morristown-Hamblen West since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will face off against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gibbs' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Union County with a sharp 10-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Malyiah Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Morristown-Hamblen West and Morristown-Hamblen East faced off in a cross-town battle on Thursday. The Trojans blew past the Hurricanes 9-0. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three games in a row.
Briony Bunsic made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Bunsic was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Kaylynn Milton and Eva Boudier did most of the damage at the plate: Milton went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Boudier went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Haley Milton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Morristown-Hamblen West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Morristown-Hamblen West's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Gibbs, their record now sits at 24-3.
Gibbs' speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Morristown-Hamblen West, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Gibbs continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Gibbs' way against Morristown-Hamblen West in their previous matchup back in March, as Gibbs made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
