The Central Spartans lost against the Calipatria Hornets back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Central fell 51-38 to Calipatria.
When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jared Martin. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. The game was Martin's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Aispuro, who scored six points.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Calipatria, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Central will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Palm Desert at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Palm Desert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday. As for Calipatria, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Imperial at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Imperial is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
