The Clyde Fliers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past Bowsher with a 63-58 win on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Katie Shiets was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Tatum Jeffrey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Clyde's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Bowsher, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clyde will take on St. Joseph Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bowsher, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lima Senior at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
