After a string of three wins, the Brevard Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 78-47 loss at the hands of Asheville Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Brevard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Lions are ranked 113th).
Brevard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tre Crite, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ben Kessinger, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Brevard's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Brevard will be playing at home against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chase comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
