Loyola Academy extended the longest winning streak in Chicago Catholic - Blue this week by beating St. Rita, 28-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Ramblers.
Brother Rice took down Leo 44-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Peter Pujals and Peter Pujals gave Loyola Academy a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Pujals threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns, while Pujals ran for 98 yards. Kristopher Coker also contributed to the rushing game with five yards on the ground.
Tom McCormick was the best wideout in the league this week as the Mustangs fell to John Holecek's team. McCormick racked up six receptions for 98 yards. Malik Space helped St. Rita's passing attack out by catching three balls for 44 yards.
The Ramblers' Pujals and Luke Ford have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pujals has thrown for 1625 yards this season, while Ford, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 25 catches for 449 yards. Brandon Price from Providence Catholic leads the league in rushing with 540 yards.
A big matchup in Chicago Catholic - Blue this week will be when the Crusaders take on Mount Carmel. At the moment, Brother Rice is in fourth, while the Caravan are in first.
Steve Nye's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Lions.
