The South Tahoe Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell to Wooster 64-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (57), South Tahoe still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why South Tahoe lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryder Tannaci. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Tannaci scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai McClain, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Jared Marquicias, who scored 18 points along with five steals for Wooster. Marquicias has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Fernando Cisneros was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
South Tahoe's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Wooster, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
South Tahoe will be playing at home against Sparks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sparks has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2. As for Wooster, they will head out on the road to square off against North Valleys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Valleys knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Wooster likes a good challenge.
