East Lake is 9-1 against Dunedin since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, East Lake made easy work of Tarpon Springs and carried off a 14-4 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Spongers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Anna Folger made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, East Lake let Meagan Bostak and Ali Sheffield run wild. Bostak scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Sheffield scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Danni Scali, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Dunedin got the win against Clearwater Central Catholic on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
The team relied heavily on Maelaea Johnson, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Riley Millican was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Dunedin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clearwater Central Catholic only posted an OBP of .286.
East Lake's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dunedin, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East Lake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .481. However, it's not like Dunedin struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
East Lake took their victory against Dunedin when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
