Baseball Recap: Westmont Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

Westmont never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros with a sharp 25-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Sentinels, who have now won 18 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Briggs Templeton and Nathaniel Ollier were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Templeton pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ollier tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Templeton has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Templeton got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and four RBI, while Ollier earned two runs and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Templeton has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Rocco Damato was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricky Yenkin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Westmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.

Westmont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
