The Colby Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They took a 64-46 bruising from Spencer. Colby was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Spencer apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Spencer found their leader in underclassman Autumn Davis, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least a third of Spencer's points. Alexis Mlsna was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Colby dropped their record down to 3-14 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Spencer, their victory ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-11.
Colby and Greenwood will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greenwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Colby in Wisconsin (Greenwood is ranked 144th, while Colby is ranked 401st). As for Spencer, they will head out on the road to square off against Owen-Withee at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Owen-Withee will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
