The Foundation Academy Lions will take on the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Foundation Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Legacy Charter a 15-0 shutout. The match marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season.

Riley Winters and Reagan Schirmer were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Winters tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Schirmer pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Winters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Winters went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Schirmer went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Schirmer has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Foundation Academy got a big performance out of Norah Ranaudo, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Ranaudo has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Ozim, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Foundation Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Mount Dora Christian Academy got the win against First Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Trinity DeVries made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). DeVries was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Katie Bayly was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Courtney Wood was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mount Dora Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Foundation Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Foundation Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mount Dora Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Foundation Academy couldn't quite finish off Mount Dora Christian Academy in their previous matchup on April 11th and fell 7-5. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
