The Thompson Valley Eagles can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 54-27 win over Niwot at home. The score was close at the half, but Thompson Valley pulled away in the second half with 33 points.
Leading Thompson Valley to victory were Jesika Hopkins and Paige Wagner. Hopkins scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Wagner scored ten points along with five steals. Wagner hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Bailey Grace was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Thompson Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Niwot, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
Thompson Valley will take on Skyline at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Skyline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Thompson Valley is ranked 97th). As for Niwot, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Frederick at 5:30 p.m. Frederick is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
