Fairfield had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.1 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 50-34 win over the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lily Maxwell, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and three steals. Maxwell has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Justine Yordy, who posted eight points.

Fairfield's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.

Fairfield will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Garrett at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-28 win against South Central on the 21st.
