The Chrisman Cardinals lost to the Armstrong Trojans back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Chrisman secured a 58-52 W over Armstrong. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chrisman.
Chrisman found their leader in underclassman Gavin McCord, who scored 23 points along with two steals. McCord is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rhoads, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Chrisman's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Armstrong, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chrisman won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Chrisman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Armstrong, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Iroquois West at 6:00 p.m. Iroquois West is coming into the match with six straight defeats on the road, meaning Armstrong will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
