Ransom Everglades is 1-7 against Riviera Prep since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Ransom Everglades Raiders will head out to square off against the Riviera Prep Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. Ransom Everglades is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Ransom Everglades' last matchup with Palmer Trinity could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. Ransom Everglades came up short against Palmer Trinity, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Ransom Everglades saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juan Velazco, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Samuel Davis also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Riviera Prep never let their opponents score last Thursday. Everything went their way against Somerset Academy South Homestead as Riviera Prep made off with a 9-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Antonio Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.
Riviera Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Ransom Everglades' defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Riviera Prep, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ransom Everglades has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .500. However, it's not like Riviera Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ransom Everglades suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Riviera Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Ransom Everglades avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
