The Orem Tigers entered their tilt with the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Orem managed a 86-81 win over Duncanville on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Asher Young was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Young is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Dastrup, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 17 assists.
Orem's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Duncanville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Orem will be playing at home against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dixie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Orem likes a good challenge. Duncanville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Crowley at 8:00 p.m. on December 12th. Crowley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 503rd, while Duncanville is ranked 124th).
