The Clear Lake Falcons will square off against the Dawson Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Lake is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Clear Lake beat Brazoswood 61-49.
Clear Lake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jazmine Klausmeier out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Klausmeier is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kirsten Lippold, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Dawson has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 49-37 to Shadow Creek on Wednesday.
Dawson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kendall Ford, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Jaycee Ingram who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 56.8% of Dawson's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Clear Lake is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-16 record this season. As for Dawson, their loss dropped their record down to 25-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Clear Lake have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Dawson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Clear Lake was taken down by Dawson 45-18 when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Thankfully for Clear Lake, Kennedy Williams (who scored 19 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
