Riverview Sarasota will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Newsome, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Riverview Sarasota walked away with a 3-0 victory over Newsome on Friday. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly three runs.

The result came thanks to Allison Cole's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Riverview Sarasota saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sierra Lipton, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Lipton also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Manatee got the win against Bradenton Christian on Friday by a conclusive 21-7. The win continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.
Baelee Garland was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Jenna Caldwell, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Riverview Sarasota's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Manatee, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Manatee's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Riverview Sarasota has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 14 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Manatee, though, as they've been averaging only 1 strikeouts. Will Riverview Sarasota keep running through batters, or will Manatee buck the trend?
Riverview Sarasota took their win against Manatee when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0.
