Softball Recap: Dublin Scioto Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Dublin Scioto, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Westerville North Warriors 11-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Irish, who have now won 12 matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Alexis Richie was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Avery Reynolds was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gigi Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Dublin Scioto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dublin Scioto's record now sits at 14-4. As for Westerville North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Dublin Scioto will challenge Thomas Worthington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Westerville North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
