Newark Memorial has gone a perfect 10-0 against Washington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Newark Memorial will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against American on Thursday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 24-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.
Caitlyn Rose made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Irvington 13-6 on Monday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Olivia Machuca was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Machuca was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Newark Memorial's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Washington, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Newark Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Newark Memorial took their win against Washington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
