Walla Walla extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 25-1 to the Richland Bombers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bombers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-0 on Friday.
Walla Walla saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Meliah, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. Aliyah Larios also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
As for Richland, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
On Richland's side, Adelyn Etzel and Ali Evans made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Etzel pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Evans pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Etzel got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Evans got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Etzel has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Richland got a massive performance out of Jordan Brannon, who went 3-for-4 with five runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Brannon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Lopez, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and five RBI.
Walla Walla wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-7 loss against Chiawana on the 31st. As for Richland, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-0 victory against Sageview on the 31st.
