After a string of three wins, the Valor Christian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conway. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (59), Valor Christian still had to take the loss.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quinn Vansickle, who scored 21 points along with 3 steals. The contest was Vansickle's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Beers, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
Valor Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Conway, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valor Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Conway, they will face off against Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Marion's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
