The Bishop Gorman Gaels will challenge the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.
Bishop Gorman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Basic, who was ranked seventh at the time (Bishop Gorman was ranked 21st). The Gaels lost 3-0 to the Wolves on Thursday. The Gaels haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
While Bishop Gorman ultimately came up short, they really made Basic work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 29-27, 25-19.
Despite the defeat, Bishop Gorman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nicholas Pasco had ten digs.
Meanwhile, Cimarron-Memorial came up short against Somerset Sky Pointe on Thursday, falling 3-0.
While Cimarron-Memorial was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 25-22.
Cimarron-Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 20-17. As for Bishop Gorman, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

However, it's not like Cimarron-Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
