Baseball Recap: Maclay Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Maclay's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Arnold on Thursday. The Maclay Marauders came out on top against the Seabreeze Sandcrabs by a score of 8-3.

Henry Richardson was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

Richardson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah Chavez, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Chavez has posted since back in February of 2024. Hunter Smith was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Maclay's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Seabreeze, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maclay will venture away from home to face off against Leon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Leon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Seabreeze, they will head out to challenge Lake Brantley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Brantley will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Seabreeze surely won't give up without a fight.
