It was a good run, but the Murray County Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to Hamilton Heights Christian Academy 56-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Murray County came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 31st in Georgia, while Hamilton Heights Christian Academy is ranked 100th in Tennessee).
It was another big night for Tanah Becker, who scored 19 points along with five steals for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Elivia Moore, who scored 18 points.
Murray County's defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Murray County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ringgold at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hamilton Heights Christian Academy will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Page at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th.
