Rio Hondo came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Santa Rosa Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up an 81-37 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 22 points or more this season.

Rio Hondo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Ayala, who posted 22 points. Ayala is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Molina, who had 16 points.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aiden Garcia, who earned 14 points along with seven boards and four steals. That's the most points Garcia has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Mia Garza, who put up eight points in addition to nine boards and five assists.

Rio Hondo's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.9 points per game. As for Santa Rosa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.

Rio Hondo will venture away from home to square off against Raymondville at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Rio Hondo's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Raymondville's offense will have their work cut out for them. Santa Rosa and IDEA Riverview will compete for holiday cheer at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Santa Rosa is facing IDEA Riverview at the right time seeing as IDEA Riverview is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
