Dixie hasn't had much luck against Crimson Cliffs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Flyers will challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Wednesday, Dixie didn't have quite enough to beat Morgan and fell 3-2. While the Flyers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-17 in the first set.
Dixie started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-17, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Dixie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore MJ Mauinatu had ten digs, two aces, and one block. Mauinatu is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 16 games she's played.
Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs faced Desert Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Thunder recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Crimson Cliffs was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Desert Hills work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 20-25, 28-26, 25-22.
Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Crimson Cliffs, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Dixie hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 6.7 blocks per game. It's a different story for Crimson Cliffs, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 blocks. Given Dixie's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Dixie was able to grind out a solid victory over Crimson Cliffs in their previous matchup back in August, winning 3-1. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Mustangs' Lily Jones, who had 33 digs and four assists.
