Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Still Creek Christian beat International Leadership of Texas Aggieland 58-54.
Still Creek Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braeden Maloney led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Logan Walton was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Humble Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 58-54 W over True North. The victory was all the more spectacular given Humble Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while True North is ranked 130th).
Humble Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kyron Williams, who scored 22 points along with 5 steals, and Noah Vickers, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Sandvig, who scored 6 points.
The victory got Still Creek Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Humble Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Still Creek Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Humble Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.8 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
