North Hagerstown and Smithsburg are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Hubs will challenge the Leopards at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. North Hagerstown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

North Hagerstown is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 5, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 13-2 to Urbana. The Hubs have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

North Hagerstown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Kelley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Kelley's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Smithsburg came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Lions. 12 seems to be a good number for the Leopards as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Hagerstown fell to 7-1. As for Smithsburg, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-1.

North Hagerstown took their victory against Smithsburg when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-5 score. Will the Hubs repeat their success, or do the Leopards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
