Clear Springs is a perfect 6-0 against Brazoswood since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Chargers will host the Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. Clear Springs will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Clear Springs is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Clear Lake: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Chargers blew the Falcons out of the water with a 42-9 final score. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Falcons are ranked 512th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clear Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daran Bolden, who rushed for 147 yards and two TDs on only seven carries. Bolden really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run. Kody Rosas was another key passer, throwing for 238 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Clear Springs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Clear Springs' defense and their five sacks. Clear Lake's QB won't forget Kole Rosas anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Rosas is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Brazoswood was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by Clear Falls and fell 45-3. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Brazoswood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Clear Springs, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Clear Springs has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 195.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Brazoswood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 173.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Clear Springs against Brazoswood when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 49-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Buccaneers' Jose Trevi?o, who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of scores. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Chargers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
