Leverett's Chapel's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaggar Ward, who scored 17 points. Ward scored a full 29.8% of Leverett's Chapel's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Williams, who scored 16 points.
Leverett's Chapel has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Detroit, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leverett's Chapel will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tyler Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Detroit, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Detroit in Texas (Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 853rd, while Detroit is ranked 1734th).
