Chino and Don Lugo are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Chino Cowboys will face off against the Don Lugo Conquistadores at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Chino didn't have too much trouble with Chaffey on the road as they won 58-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chino.
Shawn Jamison Jr was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Chino's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Manuel Alba, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Don Lugo was handed a two-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Montclair on Thursday. Don Lugo put the hurt on Montclair with a sharp 72-52 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Don Lugo has posted since December 12, 2023.
Chino is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season. As for Don Lugo, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Things could have been worse for Chino, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-49 loss to Don Lugo when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Chino avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
