The Fullington Academy Trojans fell victim to the Flint River Academy Wildcats''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Wildcats on the road and fell 41-0. Fullington Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Flint River Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Leading Flint River Academy to victory were Lucas Martin and Trenton Young. Martin rushed for 63 yards and three touchdowns, while Young rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Fullington Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Aucilla Christian and 6-2 Gatewood (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 78.3% over those games). As for Flint River Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fullington Academy will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Augusta Prep Day at 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd. As for Flint River Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Aucilla Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aucilla Christian will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
