The Northside L Lions have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 47-31 to Varsity Opponent.
When it comes to explaining why Northside L lost, one person who can't be blamed is Macy Cline. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Cline is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Elyse Snively was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Northside L has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Varsity Opponent, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 92-327.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside L will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tabernacle Christian at 6:15 p.m. on February 9th. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to square off against Coastal HomeSchool at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
