The Cathedral Catholic Dons will head out to face off against the Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cathedral Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
Last Wednesday, Cathedral Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Academy of Our Lady of Peace, taking the game 9-5.
Sophia Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Marlin, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Mileva Sesepasara also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cathedral Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Academy of Our Lady of Peace on Tuesday. The Patriots were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Pilots. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Patriots' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Ava Barrios looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Christian let Sammy Baca and Keels Carrizosa run wild. Baca fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4, while Carrizosa fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Kaitlyn Moody was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Cathedral Catholic, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Cathedral Catholic hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Cathedral Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 8-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
