The Powdersville Patriots proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 26) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Belton-Honea Path 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Powdersville has posted yet this season.
Powdersville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Raegan Bryant, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Bryant pulled down eight or more rebounds. Makayla Assemian was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Powdersville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Belton-Honea Path, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Powdersville will be playing at home against Fountain Inn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fountain Inn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. Belton-Honea Path on the road again on Friday and play against Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Palmetto is on a four-game streak of home losses, Belton-Honea Path a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
