FAIR OAKS, Calif. - Even though
Del Campo (Fair Oaks, Calif.) couldn't stop
Christian Brothers (Sacramento, Calif.), it did manage to squeak out the 41-38 victory.
The Cougars were up 34-19 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Austin Brown in the first quarter.
Del Campo saw its 15-point halftime lead fall to two entering the fourth.
DC was ahead by as much as 15 before the Falcons pulled closer.
Jalen Walker played well for Christian Brothers. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.
Josh Blumgold was the top performer for the Fair Oaks school. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The Cougars also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 28-14.
Del Campo (6-2) goes up against Bella Vista in a Capital Valley game matchup next week, while Christian Brothers (4-4) locks horns with Casa Roble also in a Capital Valley game.
