The Nederland Panthers struggled with assists on Thursday (the Loveland Classical Lions had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Nederland was outmatched by Loveland Classical on the road and fell 69-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nederland has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Nederland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Dillon. Despite the final result, he scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Davyn Meade, who scored two points along with five rebounds.
Caedon Meyer was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with eight steals for Loveland Classical. Conner Larrew was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Nederland bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Loveland Classical, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nederland will take on Two Roads Charter School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Two Roads Charter School comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Loveland Classical, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Timnath at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Timnath focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
