The Lake Marion Gators suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 72-29 loss at the hands of Oceanside Collegiate Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lake Marion has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Lake Marion saw an underclassman step up: Rayleigh Davis scored eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zania Holman, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Lake Marion bumped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Lake Marion and First Baptist School will face off at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Timberland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Timberland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Saturday.
