Volleyball Recap: Riverton Starts Season with Win Against Clinton

Riverton had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Clinton Maroons. The Hawks were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Maroons, so the Hawks were just returning the favor.

Riverton never let Clinton on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23.

Reagan Campbell paced Riverton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Campbell got some help from Lakin Johnson and her 16 assists. Johnson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Callie Edmonson, racking up three apiece.

Coincidentally, Riverton and Clinton will both be playing Mt. Pulaski the next time they take the court. The Maroons will head out to face the Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Hawks will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
