Southeastern has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Wellston Golden Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Southeastern scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Amanda-Clearcreek with a sharp 58-33 win. That 58-33 margin sets a new team best for Southeastern this season.
It was another big night for Lane Williams, who scored 12 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. Those nine assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Fisher, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Wellston strolled past River Valley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 64-49. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Wellston has managed all season.
Southeastern has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Wellston, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Southeastern beat Wellston 60-51 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Southeastern repeat their success, or does Wellston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
