Suburban recap September 17, 2013
Tallmadge moved up to 161 from 219 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Suburban. The Blue Devils were able to make move up by defeating Garfield 36-13.
Nordonia took down Parma 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
John Kromalic and Quincy Iverson gave Copley a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Kromalic threw for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Iverson ran for 122 yards. Teammate Matt Doubell added to the ground attack by rushing for 50 yards.
Kromalic and Iverson gave the Indians a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.
Iverson was a passing and rushing force as Copley defeated East. Iverson's favorite target this week was Milton Greer, who caught 3 passes for 52 yards.
Kromalic put up the best numbers in passing as Ron Viscounte's team bested the Dragons.
Iverson was the most successful running back in the league this week.
Logan Ray was the best receiver in the league this week as Tallmadge beat the Rams. Ray tallied 2 receptions for 66 yards. Quinntin Teeling helped Tallmadge's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 23 yards.
On the heels of Joseph Vassalotti and Bobby Clark, Joe Vassalotti's team has had great success on offense. Vassalotti leads the league in passing with 499 yards, while Clark has rushed for 346 yards this season. The Indians' Greer leads the league in receiving yards with 236 on 13 catches.
An important game coming up in Suburban this week will be when Highland takes on Wadsworth. At the moment, the Hornets are in third, while the Grizzlies are in first.
The Blue Devils made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,413 from 3,429. The improvement came about via a 36-13 victory over Garfield last week.
