Argonaut can attribute much of their success to Mariano Lopez, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds, and Mitchell Mcmahan, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 18 points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave Lopez a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Adam Garcia, who went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points and five boards.
Meanwhile, Woodland Christian's game on Tuesday was all tied up 36-36 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 76-61 victory over Bret Harte.
Argonaut better keep an eye on Romello Bruhn. He was instrumental in Woodland Christian's win, dropping a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Bruhn is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last 58 games he's played dating back to last season. Tanner Thomas was another key player, going 7-for-12 on his way to 16 points and seven boards.
Woodland Christian's win was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.1 points over those games. As for Argonaut, their record now sits at 25-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Argonaut has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 36.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Woodland Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Argonaut came up short against Woodland Christian in their previous meeting back in January, falling 80-74. Can Argonaut avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
