After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Onekama, the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Michael Academy and snuck past 20-18.
Grand Traverse Academy was led to victory by Cassidy Weber and Megan Pavwoski. Weber scored seven points along with three steals, while Pavwoski scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pavwoski has scored at least a third of Grand Traverse Academy's points.
Grand Traverse Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for St. Michael Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Grand Traverse Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Michael Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grand Traverse Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
