The South Caldwell Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-37 bruising from Freedom. South Caldwell has struggled against Freedom recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
South Caldwell lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kennedy Setzer, who scored 12 points. Lillie Bumgarner was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
South Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Freedom, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
South Caldwell will head out on the road to face off against Alexander Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alexander Central will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Freedom will take on Watauga at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
