It was a good run, but The Lathrop Malemutes unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 64-14 loss at the hands of Soldotna. Lathrop was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
Lathrop's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jenner Webb, who rushed for 86 yards, and also threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Skinner, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Soldotna, their win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
Lathrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Soldotna is also done with their season.
