Pike County is 1-8 against Opp since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pike County Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Opp Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Pike County will be strutting in after a victory while Opp will be coming in after a loss.
Pike County waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Daleville with a 50-44 victory.
Opp suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Daleville by a score of 40-37. Opp has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Defeat or not, Opp got some senior leadership from Josh Smith who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and Dorian Harris who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Harris hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Alan Jones was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Pike County pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Opp, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.
Everything went Pike County's way against Opp in their previous meeting last Friday as Pike County made off with a 59-37 victory. Will Pike County repeat their success, or does Opp have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
