The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Geneva came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Harvey is ranked 518th).
Harvey's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chase Goines, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Johnson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Geneva's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Harvey, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva will take on Conneaut at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Conneaut has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for Harvey, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakeside at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
