The East Marion Eagles have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They skirted past Forrest County Agricultural 39-36.
East Marion was led to victory by Natalee Dillon and Saniyah Franklin. Dillon scored six points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Franklin scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Adrinae Aikens, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
East Marion's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Forrest County Agricultural, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
East Marion will look to defend their home court on Friday against Resurrection Catholic at 6:00 p.m. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
